The International Society of LyophilizationFreeze Drying, Inc. (ISL-FD) established in 2001 as a non profit organization, has as one of the objectives, the formation of Local Chapters in different areas of the world for the promotion of the scientific and technological advancement in lyophilization. For the organization and functionality, every Local Chapter must adopt the following special set of ByLaws.
To promote the science and technology and the application of lyophilization, joining to all people dedicated to this matter in the place of origin. Through the Local Chapter, the countries could organize local meetings giving the possibility to the members to be updated in the topics of interest.
The Local Chapter will accept as a member, to all persons related to the freezedrying in the country where has been established, or from any other country of the same area. There is no fee to pay as a member, similar to the ISLFD.
The basic structure for the Officers of a Local Chapter must be consist of:
Chairperson.
Treasurer.
Secretary.
These three (3) Officers must be elected by active members of the Society who are also members of the Chapter. The Local Chapter may add other Officers as it deems necessary.
IV.1 Chairperson:
To integrate all people dedicated to the lyophilization in the own country and to disclose the establishment of the Local Chapter to other countries in the same area.
To define the objectives of the Local Chapter for a fiscal year and declare these objectives to the Chairperson of the Local Chapter Committee of the ISLFD.
Control the financial status of the Local Chapter.
To emit an annual report at the end of the fiscal year to the Chairperson of the Local Chapter of the ISLFD, with all the activities carried out.
IV.2 Treasurer:
To register in a detail way, all the expenses and the profit of the Local Chapter, in accordance with the different activities. This data must be recorded in a book.
To emit a financial report twice during the fiscal year to the Treasurer of the ISLFD.
IV.3 Secretary:
To keep updated the list of the members of the Local Chapter.
Support the organization and functionality of the Local Chapter.
Record the minutes of each meeting.
The profit of the Local Chapter collected by the different programs developed, could be freely used in new programs in order to accomplish the mission of the local organization. The management of the money must be through a bank account created for the Local Chapter. The bank account should be opened in accordance with laws of the country in which the Local Chapter resides. All checks drawn against the Local Chapter must be signed by the Chairperson and the Treasurer.
The quantity of money into the bank account must not exceed $1,000.00 at the end of each calendar year. Any excess moneys must be used in a means that will be beneficial to all the members of the Chapter.
The ISL-FD may contribute to the Local Chapter by means of a grant depending on the activities of the Chapter and the number of members.
