The Colombian Local Chapter held its first meeting on April 30th, 2004. Currently our main goal is to create an active chapter. Among the activities planned is the creation of a project that will provide the funds to run our chapter, and, at the same time will permit us start producing freeze dried Colombian products required by other countries. Additionally this year the Universidad de La Sabana will hold several events in which we plan to participate, mainly by providing information about The Society.
In Colombia lyophilization is not very popular not only because of its costs but mostly because of the lack of knowledge, so we have a lot of work ahead.
