There were thirty members and invitees from the select Organizations, and major Scientific labs ;( Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, DSIR) in Chennai, of the Government of India.

- Dr.K.Prabhakaran. Ph.D. Head of R&D. Malladi Drugs. Chennai. (will join as a member).
- Dr.Guhan Jayaraman. Ph.D. Associate Professor. Indian Institute of Technology. Biotech dept. Chennai. (will join as a member).
- Mr.S.K.Bhat. Managing Director. TEDMAG. Engg consultant. Bangalore. India. (joined as a member of ISLFD).
- Dr.B.Nagarajan.Ph.D. Professor and Chairman. Tumor Biochem and Microbiology. Cancer Institute. Chennai.
- The meeting started with the traditional lighting of the lamp (kuthu vilakku), by the Chairman, Secretary, and the members who have come from outside the city of Chennai.
- Mr.S. Thyagarajan; Secretary; welcomed the members and the invitees. The background on our President of the ISLFD, Dr.T.Jennings and the mission of the Society was enumerated. Members were requested to initiate their colleagues to join the society.
- Chairman India Chapter, Mr.K.R.Desikan; gave an account of the organization, the office bearers, the directors, the committees. The importance of the Society pertaining to the field of Lyophilization was discussed. All the members were asked to check on the interactive forum, for a thorough knowledge of the topics discussed. The importance of the annual conferences was enumerated.
- Mr.Vijayaraja Singh. Spinco Biotech; gave a seminar on ' The theoretical aspect of Freeze Drying'.This was followed by a question and answer session.
- Dr.J.Sudarsan. Head Q A . Shasun Chemicals and Drugs Ltd.,presented the slides of M/s. Anne Johnson; Compliance Officer FDA; for discussion , along with a few slides of his. This was followed by the question and answer session.
- Dr.S.Bhaukandi gave lot of inputs during the question and answer sessions on several QA aspects pertaining to the Indian Governmental regulatory aspects.
- Mr.Thyagarajan thanked the members and invitees.
- The selection of the Treasurer and other co-opted office bearer will be taken up later on, when we have the maximum number of members present from the entire subcontinent.
- He indicated to the members that the next meeting will be full fledged with invited speakers from abroad, and will be held in the middle of the subcontinent, in the western region, to enable more members to attend with ease.
- The meeting was organized in the seminar hall of Spinco Biotech. in Chennai.
- The meeting concluded with sumptuous 'high tea' sponsored by Spinco Biotech. Chennai.
